NASHVILLE, TN – In celebration of the Grand Ole Opry®’s historic, record-breaking 5,000th Saturday night broadcast this Saturday, Oct. 30, numerous outlets are lining up special programming that can be seen and heard around the world leading up to the milestone show. BBC Radio 2 in the United Kingdom, SiriusXM, the Opry’s flagship WSM Radio, and the Opry’s television broadcast home, CIRCLE Network, will host special programming this week to preview Saturday’s Opry show.

BBC Radio 2 (United Kingdom)

BBC Radio 2’s top-rated The Country Show with Bob Harris, in the United Kingdomwill be previewing the Opry’s 5000th with a special program on Oct. 28 at 21.00 BST. Grand Ole Opry star and Willie’s Roadhouse DJ Jeannie Seely hosts a one-hour special, featuring conversations with Garth Brooks, Vince Gill, Carly Pearce, and Bill Anderson, as well as vintage performances from the Opry stage, including the 1974 appearance by President Richard Nixon at the opening of the new Grand Ole Opry House.

WSM Radio began to air the show that would become the Grand Ole Opry in 1925 before expanding to television and eventually digital streaming platforms. This week’s specialty programming includes radio specials hosted by Opry announcer Charlie Mattos taking listeners through the decades that make up the Opry’s 5000 Saturday Nights. 5000 Saturday Nights: 1925-1975 airs Oct. 30 at 2 pm Central followed by 5000 Saturday Nights: 1976-Today  at 4 pm Central

Opry Unbroken – Oct. 30, 6 pm to 7 pm CentralPrior to the live OPRY 5000 broadcast, Circle will air a one-hour special, Opry Unbroken, which commemorates the making of the Opry’s limited-edition vinyl LP titled, Unbroken | Empty Room, Full Circle.  The LP represents some of the most influential artists in music, having together amassed a total of 81 Grammy® Awards and 238 nominations. Opry Unbroken on Circle reflects on the year where Opry members and special guests took to the stage to provide comfort, solace, and support to audiences in lockdown around the world. Opry Unbroken special features performances by Marty Stuart, Reba McEntire, Chris Young, Darius Rucker, Luke Combs, Margo Price, and Keith Urban that were recorded during this time.

Opry 5000 – Oct. 30, 7 pm to 9 pm Central
