NASHVILLE, TN — CMT Digital today announced the second episode of the docu-series “CMT Stages,” with a special installment featuring country star Scotty McCreery performing some of his biggest hits and reflecting on his celebrated career path thus far. “CMT Stages: Scotty McCreery” is available now on CMT’s official YouTube and Facebook channels, with breakout performances to be shared across all of CMT socials.

“I’ve always been a guy who likes to look back and share stories from my past while also moving forward with new goals,” said McCreery. “Doing ‘CMT Stages’ was so much fun and brought back so many memories. I had a blast!”

In the episode, McCreery offers exclusive acoustic performances of his biggest hits including “It Matters to Her,” “Damn Strait,” “I Love You This Big” and his first-ever No. 1 “Five More Minutes.” He also delivers a rare performance of “Southern Belle,” a single that was released during a pivotal moment in his career that was quickly overlooked, never receiving the recognition many thought it deserved. “CMT Stages” marks the first time McCreery has performed the song since 2015.

In between songs, McCreery recalls his childhood in North Carolina, learning to play “Sweet Home Alabama” on his first guitar, and his family encouraging him in early talent competitions. He takes viewers inside his decade-plus journey since winning American Idol in 2011 and moving to Nashville at age 17. Intertwined with old photos and video footage, McCreery discusses balancing post-Idol fame while finishing high school, becoming a husband and father, getting dropped by his first record label and then an unprecedented career comeback spurred by his self-penned hit “Five More Minutes.”

“CMT Stages: Scotty McCreery” was filmed at CMT’s downtown Nashville offices in a studio outfitted with memorabilia from the star’s personal and professional life, including his teenage job at a grocery store, his high school baseball team, family photos and more.

McCreery has achieved five consecutive No. 1 hits in the last few years. His latest album is Same Truck: The Deluxe Album. Four of his albums have debuted at No. 1 on a Billboard Albums chart, with current combined sales surpassing four million copies.

“CMT Stages” is the latest original series produced specifically for digital platforms, including YouTube and Facebook, with the debut episode featuring Chris Young. Additional CMT Digital franchises include the Shorty Award-winning “Viral To Verified,” “On The Road” and “Campfire Sessions.” “CMT Stages” is executive produced by Melissa Goldberg and Corey Janus, and produced by Christina Cooper, with Brittany Lutz in charge of production.
