Exclusive Premiere: Kevin Daniel “Feel Like It Should”

Many songs have been written about the amazing highs of love and its sorrowful lows, but what about the status quo? Those relationships that aren’t oozing adoring feelings but aren’t oil and vinegar either?  When you’re going through the motions just move along and keep the relationship going…but where? Obviously not forward but not necessarily backward. Stuck in a stagnant relationship, North Carolina native Kevin Daniel wrote “Feel Like It Should” to share those exact emotions and thoughts. Available on his upcoming and personal album The Life and Adventures of Kevin Daniel, “Feel Like It Should” premieres exclusively with The Country Note today.

Following three EP releases, The Life and Adventures of Kevin Daniel is the debut full-length album by the southern-soul rocker. Through 10 tracks that showcase his incredible and authentic songwriting, Daniel offers the listener a glimpse into several stops along his personal journey.  “Feel Like It Should” is one of those self-reflecting that talks about the end of a relationship while realizing another layer about himself.

“One way I knew I was getting older — and potentially even more mature — was when I ended a recent relationship,” explains Daniel. “There was nothing strictly wrong with it, it just didn’t feel like ‘right,’ the kind of ‘right’ I was looking for. I think it’s harder to stop something when there’s no glaring reason, when it just doesn’t feel like it should. But ya know. There’s always what if.”

Don’t feel like it should, even though it feels good
Somethin’ ain’t right, at the end of the night
Don’t feel like it should
Despite all our friends, time spent laying in bed
Deep in my bones, this house ain’t no home
Don’t feel like it should
