NASHVILLE, TN  — For his final official CMA Music Fest appearance, Rex Allen Jr. wowed the crowd with the talents of yet another generation of the vocally-gifted Allen family, his granddaughter Mary Fletcher. The seven-year-old joined her grandfather on the Durango Spotlight stage for the classic tune, The Lion Sleeps Tonight. The performance was also broadcast on 650am WSM as well as www.wsmonline.com.

Rex simply asked, “Would you like to sing Mary Fletcher?” With an emphatic, “YES!.” she was on stage and singing like a pro. The crowd snapped photos and sang along, finally jumping to their feet at the conclusion of the song.

They stood once more when Rex Allen Jr. ended his set with a heartfelt thank you for fans allowing him into their lives. The first standing ovations of the day followed with a long line of fans getting autographs.
