Nashville, TN –– Country / Heartland Rock artist and songwriter Matt Jordan releases his new single “Steal Away the Night” available now on all streaming platforms. The single, written by Jordan, showcases his artistry as a songwriter.
In the story-behind-the-song video, Jordan says this song has a bit of Bryan Adams 80’s swagger to it and he talks about the journey of the single as it almost didn’t make the album. Jordan worked with Grammy-Award nominated producer, Sal Oliveri (P!nk, Chris Stapleton), to tweak the song and he’s thrilled with how it turned out.
Jordan says his influences growing up were American Rock icons like Springsteen, Petty, Mellencamp, Seger, The Eagles and Jackson Browne. That style of music heavily influenced the rising star’s gritty vocals and country/rock sound, often drawing comparisons to some of his favorites like Springsteen and Eric Church.
“I think something that always drew me to American Rock was the simplicity of the music and the way they were able to capture a rebellious spirit in their lyrics,” said Matt Jordan. “I really drew on that inspiration for this single. When my wife and I started dating, we were still in college, so we both lived with our parents during holidays and summer breaks. I remember one summer, we’d go out to dinner or a concert and I’d be driving her home late at night and we just didn’t want the night to end. So we’d drive around, talk, and listen to music, sometimes until 3:00am or 4:00am in the morning. That’s what this song is about – that feeling of new, young love and not wanting to say goodnight.”
This is Jordan’s fourth single off his upcoming project to include recent releases like “Steering Wheel,” “Always A Girl” and “Anyone But Me” released to rave reviews, with his music landing on various playlists to include Spotify’s Country Rocks, New Music Nashville, Next From Nashville, New Music Friday: Country and Fresh Finds: Country to name a few.
