Brett Eldredge Taps Nostalgia and a Chicago Landmark for New “Wanna Be That Song” Video

Illinois native and sexy Country Crooner, Brett Eldredge recently released his newest video for “Wanna Be That Song” and for some natives of the state my find a familiar landmark in it.

The video was shot on location at the iconic Wrigley Field, home of the Chicago Cubs.  Eldredge, who grew up a few hours south of the Windy City, knew that he wanted to use his beloved Cubs’ house in his video.  Directed by Joel Robertson, whom also directed Eldredge’s proceeding videos “Lose My Mind” and “Drunk On Your Love”, the video begins in vintage black and white to represent the 1940’s, showcasing a teenager telling his girlfriend of his dream to play baseball at the iconic landmark.  The images switch between black and white and present day, with Eldredge and a beautiful brunette playing older versions of the teenaged boy and girl – going through the young couple’s life from dating to marriage to kids, the young man fulfills his dream of baseball history with his girl by his side.

Just like rounding the bases during the game, the video represents going full circle from dreams to reality.  “Wanna Be That Song”, the third single off Eldredge’s sophomore album Illinois is about all of life’s greatest moments and how it shapes an individual’s life – we think the video fits perfectly.
