NASHVILLE, TN –– ACM and CMA nominated singer/songwriter and breast cancer survivor Anita Cochran returns to the road after a nearly a twoyear hiatus to fight breast cancer. Anita was diagnosed with triple positive carcinoma breast cancer in 2017. Her first dates took her to Ohio and to her home state of Michigan. While in Michigan she went back to her hometown of South Lyon to reunite for an inpromtu visit with some old high school friends. Close to 100 friends joined Anita at their hang out,“The Hotel,” a popular club where “everyone knows your name.” During the visit the city’s Mayor Daniel L. Pelchat presented Anita with the prestigious “Key To The City”.

Pelchat says “The Community is very proud to have such a strong role model from our small
town.”

“I’m so proud to be from South Lyon
,”Anita said. “It was a great place to grow up. To receive this gift of the Key To The City’ means so much. It’s an honor and I hope to always make my hometown proud of what I do. Seeing old friends was also food for my soul that I’ve needed for a while now. This town has always supported me and I am so grateful!”

If being back on the road playing music wasn’t enough, “
The Magruder Hospital” in Port Clinton, Ohio partnered with The Listening Room where she performed to help raise money for her charity “The Love Anchors Fund” where 100% of ticket sales went to the charity.

Anita
started her charity to help raise money for breast cancer research, prevention and financial aid to patients who can’t work during their treatment. Through her charity, The Love Anchors Fund (managed by the Community Foundation of Tennessee), Anita is able to to pay it forward to help find a cure for the disease she and so many others have battled. In October, for the charity’s first major initiative The Love Anchors Fund donated proceeds of her anthem “Fight Like A Girl” single sales to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation for the week following her empowering national television performance of “Fight Like A Girl” on Good Morning America.
