Thomas Rhett Reveals A Private, Romantic Side In His New Single “Die A Happy Man”

Thomas Rhett’s relationship with his wife is perhaps one of the most genuine in country music and his new single, “Die a Happy Man,” is his testimony to exactly how deep his love goes for his dear Lauren.

The second single from his sophomore album Tangled Up, “Die A Happy Man” is quite a juxtaposition from Rhett’s previous single, “Crash and Burn” – while the mentioned was an upbeat tempo describing the dismantling of a relationship, the new single (co-written by Rhett, Sean Douglas, and Joe Spargur) is a true love-story ballad that features some of the most “she’s so lucky” lyrics perhaps ever penned:

And I know that I can’t ever tell you enough
That all I need in this life is your crazy love
If I never get to see the Northern Lights
Or if I never get to see the Eiffel Tower at night
Oh if all I got is your hand in my hand
Baby I could die a happy man

Backing up those lyrics is a bluesy electric guitar with a slow beat that hints at Marvin Gaye (who’s appropriately mentioned in the first verse).  The music sets a romantic sway in motion while Rhett sings as if it’s just he and his wife dancing – his words sung into her ear, putting her on the goddess pedestal that he obviously sees her as:

Baby that red dress brings me to my knees
Oh but that black dress makes it hard to breathe
You’re a saint, you’re a God, it’s the cutest, the hottest masterpiece
It’s too good to be true, nothing better than you
In my wildest dreams

“Die a Happy Man” hits country radio on September 28th but is available now on iTunes or other digital retailers.  Tangled Up will be released to all outlets on September 25th.
