Thomas Rhett Returns To His Flirty Ways in His New Single, “T-Shirt”

Following his most recent Platinum single, the beautiful ballad “Die A Happy Man,” Thomas Rhett is back to putting his up-tempo beat on the radio, releasing “T-Shirt” as his third single from his sophomore album Tangled Up. Like previous releases, the song is catchy with playful lyrics that will definitely have some people blushing.

Starting with the first note, it’s impossible to stay still as the beat of the drums and electric guitar gets you moving. The lyrics, written by power trio Ashely Gorley, Luke Laird and Shane McAnally, set the scene of a guy with his girl on the patio at their bar spot and drinking “2 for 1, 4 for 2” specials.  He then proposes the idea of going back to his place.  She plays reluctant, but then…

Next thing I know you were wearing my
T-shirt right there, your hair messed up like a Guns N Roses video
Ooh ooh so hot
Still got it up in my head you were movin’ around in the TV light
I ain’t ever seen anything like your dress, my floor, the way you wore my, my T-shirt

If your heart isn’t racing after the chorus, it will be after the second verse (otherwise you may have to check your pulse):

We were walking up the stairs with the neighbors saying “keep it down”
But it’s hard to unlock the door when you’re making out (know what I’m sayin’?)
You’ve been saying that we’ve gotta quit doin’ this
So why you leanin’ in for one more kiss?
And pretty soon you’re sliding off what you’ve got on and slippin’ into my T-shirt (repeat chorus)

“T-Shirt” has a lot in common with most of his other singles: an infectious beat and sweet, sexy, but knowing where to draw the line (sometimes coming very close to that line), lyrics which have become somewhat of Rhett’s trademark. Don’t be surprised if it scores him his sixth straight chart topper.

“T-Shirt” can currently be heard on country radio and is available on all outlets.
