Lookin’ For Love? Stephen Paul Says You’re ‘Lookin’ For Me’

Singer-songwriter Stephen Paul hails from the Louisiana Bayou where he has been making country music since the age of three.  His songwriting came from his involvement in the church, then proceeded throughout his college years at the University of Louisiana- Monroe when he performed with a variety of bands, eventually making his way to Nashville.

While in Music City, he has found success in songwriting with cuts like “Runnin’ From My Roots”, performed by Janelle Arthur. The song became the title track to the movie of the same name.  His current single, “Leaving Louisiana” has been just as successful so far with 275,000 + streams on all platforms. The song is a precursor to his latest release, “Lookin’ For Me”, which debuted on March 15th. And you are definitely going to want both songs added to your playlist!

“Lookin’ For Me”, written by Paul and Alex Smith, is about a fella insinuating that he is Mr. Right. He goes on to confidently explain that what he has to offer to this woman is exactly what she needs, even if she doesn’t know it yet.

“I said are you lookin’ for me/ cuz I’m a good lead and I got two feet made for dancin’/ it’s plain to see you’re looking for someone / well maybe you’re staring at him/ if you want to be a bar tab or a one night stand/ well there’s other fish in the sea/ but if you’re lookin for love/ you’re lookin for me”.

With creative lyrics, steady guitar and rhythmic drum beats, “Lookin for Me” was made to be played on the radio and in your favorite hangout spot. Paul’s strong cajun twang creates an adorable pure country, get up and dance song.  The more you listen, the more infectious it becomes. And the video, filmed at Tin Roof Midtown, one of the most popular local digs in Nashville, is the perfect visual.

“This song is going to make everyone want to put on their dancing shoes. It’s one of those light-hearted songs that’ll make you feel good. It brings a smile to your face and you wanna raise your beer to it,” says Paul of his latest work.

Raise a beer we will Stephen Paul! The song, along with more of Paul’s music, can be found on all digital download sites. You can catch him on the road this spring and follow him on Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter.
