Kane Brown’s Sweet, Soulful ‘Heaven’

Kane Brown may be nominated for New Male Vocalist of the Year at the 53rd Academy of Country Music Awards, but his delivery of “Heaven” makes him sound like he’s been around longer than most new male vocalists. With a soulful mix of country and R&B, Brown brings “Heaven” home.

The soulful sound and slow rhythm of “Heaven” takes you into the romantic interlude of a couple who have spent such a beautiful time together that Brown wonders if anything can be more beautiful. In his mind, Heaven may not be as beautiful as his lady love and their night together:

Everybody’s talking about heaven like they just can’t wait to go
Saying how it’s gonna be so good, so beautiful
Lying next to you, in this bed with you, I ain’t convinced
Cause, I don’t know how, I don’t know how heaven, heaven
Could be better than this

I swear you’re an angel
Sent to this world
What did I do right to deserve you, girl?
I could stay here forever
I’d be fine if we never had to even leave this room

Written by Shy Carter, Matt McGinn and Lindsay Rimes, “Heaven” is currently gold-certified and is #1 on Nielsen On Demand Audio Core Country Streaming Chart.

Brown grew up listening to country music and began singing while in high school. After winning a talent show in the 11th grade (the winning song was country crooner Chris Young’s “Getting You Home”), he decided to pursue a music career. Coming full circle, Brown has been on the winter piece of the Losing Sleep World Tour with Young and will be going back out with him for the spring and summer leg of the tour.
