Codie Prevost Finds Appreciation In ‘Today’s Not My Day’

Canadian Country Crooner Codie Prevost is a four time Canadian CMA nominee, six time Saskatchewan CMA “Fans Choice Entertainer of the year” winner whose albums have scored favorable chart success. This past February, Prevost released his fifth album Radio and has just delivered the album’s second single, “Today’s Not My Day”, to Canadian Country Radio and to US Country Radio, a first in his career.

The tune’s strumming guitar and Prevost’s incredible vocals leads the listener into the story of a guy singing of his irritation of the morning he’s been through; being late, getting cut off and rush hour traffic, but seeing a line of a funeral procession puts what’s more important into perspective – the family he has and all the things he still has to do:

Today’s not my day
But today it could be worse
Instead of driving this old Jeep, I could be ridin’ in that hearse
No more knowin’ she’s my world
Being a daddy to my girls
There’s so much left to do and left to say
So thank god, today’s not my day

All fans, new and old, will find a simple message in this well written song: learn to appreciate what you have, the here and now. With this beautiful tune comes a preview video which documents Prevost and his family, to which the singer stated “This song is dedicated to my girls at home, Ashley, Lyriq, and Everly”.
