Brothers Osborne Get Nostalgic on New Single “21 Summer”

The Grammy-nominated duo T.J and John Osborne, otherwise known as Brothers Osborne, have released a new single titled “21 Summer,” the third single off of their debut album Pawn Shop.

“21 Summer” brings it back to that one extraordinary summer – the lyrics seize the point in time when a boy became a man and years later he still imagines how the “one that got away” is doing. It’s the one broken heart that has you yearning to have another chance with. There is no escaping because particulars in your current life prompt vivid memories of that summer – the details of what she was wearing, the song that was playing, and the acoustics of summer seem like yesterday.

Now and then I think about you now and then
When I see that Chevrolet
That certain shade, of blue
I hear that song, the one we sang all summer long

At a slower tempo tune, the sentiment and nostalgia are not lacking – it’s essentially the song we all feel in regards to a first love. Going for more of a “California Country” mood to this single, the newest single is different than anything else on their debut EP – however, much like their other singles “Rum” and “Stay a Little Longer”, “21 Summer” showcases this duo’s polished blues tone and deep voices.

How yah been
I’d love to hear bout how you been
you’re the only broken heart I’ve ever had and love to have again

Brothers Osborne are up for New Vocal Duo/Group of the Year and Vocal Duo of the Year at this year ACM Awards. ACM Awards will air on April 3rd, tune in to see if Brothers Osborne take home an award. “21 Summer” is available where all digital music is sold.
