New Safety Measures and Other Tips For Attending This Year’s CMA Music Festival

The 2018 CMA Music Festival kicks off one month from today, which gives you just enough time to make sure you have all the necessities packed and double checked to make sure you didn’t forget anything!  Below you will find some important information about this year’s CMA Fest as well as a list of items we suggest you bring along.

First thing to address is the new safety measures set forth by the Country Music Association. In light of the recent events around our nation, some additional precautions have been made.  Please see below, as stated from CMAFest.com:

New Safety Measures

The safety of our fans, artists and staff is our top priority. In 2018, new important safety measures are being implemented, including:

  • CMA will provide one FREE CMA Fest-branded clear bag to four-day pass holders this year! CMA Fest will now follow Nissan Stadium’s clear bag policy at all official festival locations.
    • To pick up your free clear bag, visit Music City Center, Level 2 starting Wednesday, June 6 at 9:30 AM and show your four-day pass. One free bag per four-day pass.
  • While exclusive fan opportunities continue to make CMA Fest a special experience for all, photo lines will not be available due to increased safety measures.

NEW BAG POLICY DETAILS – ALL LOCATIONS

  • The safety of our fans, artists and staff is our top priority.  CMA Fest will now follow Nissan Stadium’s clear bag policy at all official festival locations.
  • Bags that are clear plastic, vinyl or PVC and do not exceed 12” x 12” x 6” are allowed. All styles of clear bags are acceptable as long as they are 12″ x 12″ x 6″ or smaller – this includes clear cinch sacks, clear diaper bags, gallon Ziploc bags, etc. In addition to a clear bag, a small clutch bag or wallet no larger than 5.5” x 8.5” is allowed.
  • If you are not a four-day pass holder (see above), a regulation-sized bag can be purchased here on our official merch shop site.
  • Prohibited items include, but are not limited to: purses larger than 5.5” x 8.5”, coolers, briefcases, backpacks, fanny packs, seat cushions, luggage of any kind, computer bags and camera bags or any bag larger than the permissible size. Exceptions will be made for medically-necessary items after proper inspection at Gates 1 and 7 at Nissan Stadium.
  • All bags are subject to inspection. For more information, visit TitansOnline.com/BagPolicy.

In addition to the bag mentioned above, here is a list of items you should make sure to have on hand with you while walking around.  Most are common sense, but in the excitement of packing, sometimes you forget things. This is especially helpful for any one attending their first CMA Fest!

  1. Water bottle – It’s Tennessee. In June.  It will be HOT! Staying hydrated is very important to make sure you don’t fall ill, and as a result don’t miss out on all the fun! There will be water stations for easy and free fill-ups! You can also purchase a bottle for $1 from the CMA Water Vendors who will be stationed throughout CMA Fest. Proceeds go to the CMA Foundation benefiting music education.
  2. Suntan lotion – Look for a high SPF (they do sell 100+)
  3. Head Cover – Cap, cowboy hat, bandanna, anything – scalps burn too!
  4. Poncho – Be prepared for those unexpected rain showers/monsoons (umbrellas are not allowed inside the CMA Fest venues)
  5. Snap Cooling Towels – these are life savers! All you need to do is wet one, pull it so you hear a snapping sound, and it becomes instantly cool. They can be found in a variety of stores from Walmart to Home Depot. You can also grab an official CMA towel from the merch shop.
  6. Wet Ones / Wipes – they come in handy more than you’d think
  7. Blister BandAids – your feet will thank you
