Get Ready For CMA Fest 2019!

CMA Fest takes over downtown Nashville June 6 – 9, 2019.

We are under 1 month away from the 2019 CMA Music Festival! That means it’s time to make sure you have all the necessities packed – you have started already right? – and double check to make sure you didn’t forget anything!

Last year we provided some important information regarding CMA Fest as well as a list of items we suggest you bring along. We’ve updated the info below, and as always refer to the CMA Fest website for the most up-to-date official information.

As stated from CMAFest.com:

SEE SOMETHING, SAY SOMETHING – REPORT SUSPICIOUS ACTIVITY:

  • As one big Country Music loving community, help keep each other safe by reporting suspicious activity immediately. Call 615-880-1515 or, if there’s an emergency, call 911 directly.

NEW BAG POLICY DETAILS – ALL LOCATIONS

  • The safety of our fans, artists and staff is our top priority. CMA Fest follows a clear bag policy at all official festival locations.
  • ALLOWED BAGS: Bags that are clear plastic, vinyl or PVC and do not exceed 12” x 12” x 6” are allowed. All styles of clear bags are acceptable as long as they are 12″ x 12″ x 6″ or smaller – this includes clear cinch sacks, clear diaper bags, fanny packs, gallon Ziploc bags, etc. In addition to a clear bag, a small clutch bag or wallet 5.5” x 8.5” or smaller is allowed. One approved size clear bag and one approved size small clutch is allowed per person.
  • This year, a free clear bag, provided by Game Show Network, will be available to all four-day pass holders! All you have to do is show your four-day pass at the Information Booths located on Broadway and the Music City Center Plaza starting Thursday, June 6 at 10AM.
  • PROHIBITED BAGS: Prohibited bags include, but are not limited to: non-clear bags of any kind (including mesh, tinted plastic and clear bags with a printed pattern), clear bags larger than 12” x 12” x 6”, coolers and seat cushions.
  • MEDICALLY-NECESSARY ITEMS: Exceptions will be made for medical equipment and medically-necessary items after proper inspection. For additional details, look at the “MEDICAL EQUIPMENT & MEDICALLY-NECESSARY ITEMS” section of the FAQs.
  • All bags are subject to inspection. CMA Fest reserves the right to refuse admittance (without refund of admission) to ticket holders who refuse to allow inspection of their bags when entering each venue. CMA Fest offers three storage locations. For additional details, look at the “STORAGE LOCATIONS” section of the FAQs.

In addition to the bag(s) mentioned above, we at The Country Note compiled a list of items you should make sure to have on hand with you while walking around.  Most are common sense, but in the excitement of packing, sometimes you forget things. This is especially helpful for any one attending their first CMA Fest!

  1. Water bottle – It’s Tennessee. In June.  It will be HOT! Staying hydrated is very important to make sure you don’t fall ill, and as a result don’t miss out on all the fun! There will be water stations for easy and free fill-ups! You can also purchase a bottle for $2 from the CMA Water Vendors who will be stationed throughout CMA Fest. Proceeds go to the CMA Foundation benefiting music education. (Please note that canisters/containers made of stainless steel and/or glass of any kind are not allowed at any CMA Fest location. Go to cmafest.com/faq for more information)
  2. Sunscreen – Look for a high SPF (they do sell 100+) however as aerosol containers not allowed at any CMA location, please be sure to pack suntan lotion.
  3. Head Cover – Cap, cowboy hat, bandanna, anything – scalps burn too!
  4. Poncho – Be prepared for those unexpected rain showers/monsoons (umbrellas are not allowed inside the CMA Fest venues). There are also 4 designated weather shelters in the event of severe weather (Music City Center Garage (6th Avenue between Demonbreun & Korean Veterans Blvd) / Music City Center (during operational hours 9:30AM to 5:00 PM only; 201 5th Avenue South) / Bridgestone Arena (501 Broadway) / Hilton Hotel Underground Parking Garage (121 4th Avenue South) )
  5. Snap Cooling Towels – these are life savers! All you need to do is wet one, pull it so you hear a snapping sound, and it becomes instantly cool. They can be found in a variety of stores from Walmart to Home Depot. You can also grab an official CMA towel from the merch shop.
  6. Wet Ones / Wipes – they come in handy more than you’d think
  7. Blister BandAids – your feet will thank you.

Additional information is available on the CMA Fest website including Xfinity Fan Fair X, CMA Fest Fan Access, FAQs, a list of prohibited items, maps, schedules and more.
