Wheelchair Bound Shane Michael Taylor Rolls onto the Scene with His Single “I’m Giving In” Landing Profiles With the Genres Leaders

Despite the ravages of cerebral palsy, Shane Michael Taylor stands “in tall cotton” with the likes of his heroes Blake Shelton, Reba McEntire, Kip Moore Eric Church, Sam Hunt, Chris Lane, Justin Moore, Luke Bryan, Joe Nichols, Randy Houser and Brett Young as spotlights on his latest release “I’m Giving In” are rolling in. Shane’s release week kicked off with The Country Note exclusively premiering the “I’m Giving In” first full audio stream on Tuesday, April 20. That was followed by a release day feature on Country Music Chat/Country Sway’s “Undiscoverable, Notable, & Highly Addictive New Music Releases” featuring the latest releases from the aforementioned stars. Today, country music fans can stream Shane’s latest work on the Academy of Country Music’s New Music Friday Playlist placing him “shoulder to shoulder” with hit makers such as Thomas Rhett, Brian Kelley, Ashley McBryde, Chris Janson, Tim McGraw, Faith Hill, Dan + Shay, Keith Urban, Tracy Lawrence, Tyler Hubbard, Miranda Lambert, Ronnie Milsap and Ashley Monroe.

“Music may not be a prescription, but it is medicine, especially when the lyrics of a song are relatable,” says The Country Note. “Songwriter, author, and motivational speaker Shane Michael Taylor‘s “I’m Giving In” is one of those songs that can help those going through any difficult period in their life.”

“One of my fondest memories as a kid was lying in bed in my jammies, watching the ACM awards,” says Shane. “We were on the east coast, so the suspense of who would win ‘Entertainer of the Year’ was always right around 11pm – way past my bedtime for a school night.  But, seeing those artists play live would just rev me up so much that my mom knew that there was no way in the world I’d sleep!  So she’d let me stay up until the show was over.  The winners would sometimes tell everyone to follow their dreams no matter the struggles.  To be accepted and recognized by the Academy – and to have one of my songs played alongside such great artists, some of whom I’ve watched as a kid lying in that bed, feels surreal”

Shane’s newest single was inspired by his personal story of experiencing life from a wheelchair battling severe cerebral palsy and the feelings of isolation which were amplified by the pandemic. Through his perseverance and spirited disposition, Shane uses his writing to motivate, inspire and entertain others who may need a dose of insight. Providing the vocals on this release for the inspirational songwriter that cannot vocally communicate is recording artist Matt Dame.
