Sixth generation musician Wayne Brewer of the critically-acclaimed band The Kentucky Ramblers, and his wife Alyssa are excited to reveal they’re expecting their first child together. It also marks the first grandchild for family patriarch Gary Brewer (Wayne’s father). The bundle of joy is set to arrive in October 2022.
Wayne is the CEO of SGM (Stretch Grass Music) Records, while also performing as a member of Gary Brewer & The Kentucky Ramblers. Since taking the helm as the lead role in the band’s business endeavors, they have experienced even more elevated success. Alyssa Brewer also works internally for The Kentucky Ramblers, sharing administrative duties as the COO of SGM Records.
The Louisville based group’s most recent full-length album 40th Anniversary Celebration catapulted them to new heights, and was the 79th best selling album on Billboard’s all-genre 2021 Top Current Selling Album Sales Year-End Chart. It also charted as the No. 3 best-selling Bluegrass album (only behind two Sturgill Simpson projects).
Even with the baby announcement, the group has no plans of slowing down. They’re charging ahead into 2022 with a new single called “Pass Along The Good” featuring Americana hitmaker Jim Lauderdale. In addition to a jam-packed tour schedule, they also have a major surprise they’re working on which will likely be announced in the upcoming months.
