L to R: Tim Rushlow, Meredith Libbey (WNPT) and Justin Harvey (WNPT)
Nashville, TN – Former Little Texas front man and multi-platinum selling artist, Tim Rushlow, brought his love of the retro classic sounds of icons like Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin and Bobby Darin to public television in a swinging new TV special, “Tim Rushlow & His Big Band – LIVE” to WNPT Thursday evening,  Sept. 1st, with BIG fanfare!  The program was up against some pretty hefty competition with major college football games airing that evening competing for viewers across three other networks., including UT’s “Volunteers.”  More public television affiliates plan to air “Tim Rushlow and His Big Band -LIVE ” over the next 12 months.

“Nashville Public Television is so proud to work with Tim Rushlow on his exciting new concert special and to help share it with the rest of the public television system. Tim’s love of music from America’s Big Band era shines through in every song in the show, not only through his amazing voice, but also through his knowledge of the scores and the crooners who paved the way before him. Our premiere broadcast was extremely well received coming in as the second highest grossing pledge show for the current membership campaign.  I’m very excited for viewers nationwide to  discover Tim’s outstanding show!  I know that our Nashville area viewers are especially excited about seeing him perform live at the Franklin Theatre here in December,” said Justin Harvey, Director of Content / WNPT.

Hosts Justin Harvey and Meredith Libbey, along with Tim himself, encouraged new members to call in their pledges with personal stories and information about the television special which was filmed in Nashville. One of the most popular pledge items was a pair of tickets to one of Tim’s live performances to be held at The Franklin Theatre in Franklin, TN on December 2nd and 3rd, where he will be performing songs from his BIG BAND CLASSIC CHRISTMAS record as well as favorites from The American Songbook. Tickets for the “Home For The Holidays” shows are now open to the public and can be obtained here.
