The Montvales Bring Their Folksongs Into A Full-Band, Modern Era On Brand New Album Born Strangers

Produced by Mike Eli LoPinto (Chris Stapleton); Tour continues tonight
with album-release show at Cincinnati’s Woodward Theatre

Cincinnati, OH – Sally Buice and Molly Rochelson, better known as Cincinnati-based folk duo The Montvales, have managed to keep folklore traditions—like a strong sense of home and enacting change through art—alive on their new release Born Strangers, all without veering from their personal, honest perspective of two young, female artists in the 2020s. Taking a step into new territory with a full band of Nashville musicians—a departure from their 2019 album, Heartbreak Summer Camp—Born Strangers finds producer Mike Eli LoPinto (guitarist for Chris Stapleton and co-writer and producer of Emily Nenni’s “On the Ranch”) co-helming the Montvales’ ship with an A-list rost of session players filling out an elevated and amplified sound. Buice and Rochelson’s voices intertwine jubilantly throughout the album—a sound developed over a lifetime of singing together—and listeners are compelled to join in harmony on a dynamic journey through the gritty, determined, and sometimes absurd world of The Montvales.

Fans can stream or purchase Born Strangers today at this link and watch the video for their latest single, “Through The Night” here. The Montvales are kicking off another leg of tour tonight with a special hometown, album-release show at Cincinnati’s Woodward Theatre before heading to Indianapolis on Saturday. The following week, they’re bringing the full band to Barley’s in Knoxville for a second album-release show. A full list of tour dates can be found below or at themontvales.com/tour.
