Nashville, TN – Today, Red Dirt Country Singer-Songwriter Wade Bowen, who recently won Texas Male Vocalist of the Year at the 2024 T3R Awards for the second year in a row, released a sentimental new ballad “Mary Jane” off his upcoming album Flyin (Bowen Sounds via Thirty Tigers/The Orchard, May 10);  stream/download HERE. Alongside the release, Bowen also debuted an acoustic performance video of the new track where fans can see the raw emotion felt throughout the song; watch HERE.

Written by singer-songwriters Chase Bryant and Jon Randall, “Mary Jane” kicks off with the sounds of an acoustic guitar as Bowen’s distinctive vocals begin serenading listeners. The poetic track opens with, “You were always way too pretty for this town. A little too good to be hanging around on this side of the tracks. Are you lost, are you lonely?” setting the starry-eyed tone for the remainder of the song.

It’s just so simple, yet so beautiful,” Bowen recently said in a PEOPLE.com interview. “Sometimes the simple songs really turned out to be the best ones. When I heard it, I really believed that this just might be one of those that can really catch on fire… and really be a home run…

“Mary Jane” is the second song to be released off Bowen’s upcoming tenth studio album Flyin, out May 10th. The first song released from the record was “Rainin on Me,” an up-tempo, Eagles-inspired track that takes Bowen back to the music he listened to growing up; watch the official music video HERE. The full track listing for Flyin includes a curation of diverse songs ranging from old fashioned honky-tonk country to gut-wrenching ballads, classic rock and even a love song to Texas that highlights how his home state shaped who he is today. Fans can pre-save the record HERE.

Last month, Bowen kicked off the 2024 baseball season for the defending World Series champions, the Texas Rangers, by delivering a heartfelt performance of the National Anthem at the season opener against the Chicago Cubs. This was a full-circle moment for Bowen who has been a lifelong Rangers fan. In addition, as an exclusive for the 40,000+ crowd at Globe Life Field, Bowen debuted his gritty new anthem, “Nothin but Texas,” off his upcoming album. Watch both moments HERE.
