Taylor Hicks Joins Webster Public Relations Roster

Second Season of Hicks’ Television Show “State Plate” Set To Premiere August 11

Nashville, Tenn. – Kirt Webster, President of Webster Public Relations, announces the addition of Taylor Hicks to its roster for publicity representation. “Taylor has shown his talent expands beyond the music realm to a variety of facets in the entertainment industry,” said Webster. “I’m excited for all the possibilities to come with this partnership.”

Hicks, while widely known for his success as the Season 5 winner of AMERICAN IDOL, is expanding his reach beyond the music realm as he returns this August to host State Plate, an INSP original series that takes Hicks across the U.S. in search of some of the states’ most symbolic and popular foods. State Plate Season 2 is set to premiere Friday, August 11th at 8p ET.

An Alabama native, Hicks had music on his mind from childhood. As a young adult, he became a fixture around the Southeast, playing concerts and club dates with visiting stars like James Brown, Tom Petty, and Jackson Browne. Hicks launched himself into the hearts and minds of the public in AMERICAN IDOL’s fifth season, and his star continued to rise after he stepped off the IDOL stage. Less than three weeks after his IDOL victory, his debut single, “Do I Make You Proud,” entered at #1 on Billboard’s Hot 100, Pop 100, and Single Sales Charts. Coinciding with the single’s release, a cover story named him People magazine’s “Hottest Bachelor of the Year.” His self-titled album (Arista), debuted at #2 on the Billboard 200 and was quickly certified RIAA Platinum. In 2007, Hicks penned a brisk-selling autobiography “Heart Full of Soul” (Random House). Hicks is the first male IDOL winner to be featured on a Grammy Award-winning album, Jimmy Fallon’s “Blow Your Pants Off,” which took home the 2013 Grammy for Best Comedy Album.

Additionally, Hicks starred in the hit musical Grease on Broadway, which extended to an 18-month national tour. In 2012, he began a residency at Bally’s Las Vegas, then at Paris Las Vegas.
