Nashville, Tenn. — Debuting at No. 12 on the iTunes Country Chart, country music artist Sydney Mack releases her TikTok viral hit “Pretty Boy,” out now on all digital platforms.
New to TikTok, Mack posted a snippet of the song on her page. The video instantly went viral, gaining an overwhelming 650,000-plus views, with comments praising the relatable lyrics and demanding Mack to release the song. Watch the TikTok: here
“My hope is that the person listening realizes they’re not alone, and that self-love is more important than empty promises,” says Mack.
Go on and find some pretty face
That thinks you’re pretty cool
Cause I think it’s pretty safe to say
I ain’t your pretty fool
Mack co-wrote this song with Wade Kirby and Shane Minor to empower women to get out of bad and toxic relationships. The TikTok comments had numerous women expressing their gratitude for the song and sharing their own personal stories.
“Writing this song, it took me back to a relationship where the guy was really nice to look at, but that’s where it ended. He was a pretty boy — pretty disrespectful, pretty controlling and pretty narcissistic. My goal with this song wasn’t to bash the “pretty boy” necessarily but to come from a point of strength for the girl who’s walking away.”
American Songwriter premiered the “girl-power anthem” earlier this week, hailing that “Mack’s gift for connecting with her audience is more evident than ever.”
“Pretty Boy” is out now and available on all digital streaming platforms.
