Spike the Holidays with Alan Jackson’s Egg Nog

Christmas may be over, but there is still plenty of holiday celebrating to still go around!  Family and friends will soon gather to say goodbye to 2017 and usher in 2018.

Are you hosting a New Years party and want to impress with homemade egg nog? Well Alan Jackson has you covered!  Check out his recipe for one of his favorite drinks below:

Alan’s Egg Nog

Ingredients
1 pint heavy whipping cream
1 1/4 cups sugar
6 eggs yolks
3/4 cup bourbon or whiskey of choice
1/3 cup light rum of choice
1 quart whole milk

Directions:
-Whip cream until stiff. Add 1/4 cup sugar.
-In another bowl, whip egg whites and 1/2 cup sugar until stiff.
-In a third and larger bowl, whip egg yolks until creamy with 1/2 cup sugar.
-Add liquor to whipped egg yolk mixture.
-Stir in Milk.
-Mix all ingredients together, and chill before serving.
-Top with a sprinkle of nutmeg if desired, and enjoy!

Yields: approx. 6-8 servings
Prep Time: 25 minutes
Total Time: 2 hours to include chilling mixture
