The Sisterhood Reflects on Bucket List Week

New Duo Makes Opry Debut and Special Rooftop Appearance
as Total Solar Eclipse Captivates Music City

Nashville, TN – The Sisterhood experienced a bucket list week. Not only did the new country duo make their Grand Ole Opry debut on Sunday evening, August 20th , but, they also provided the soundtrack for the momentous Total Solar Eclipse as they performed at a private event in Nashville on August 21st.

“It was an absolute honor to make our debut on a rare Sunday night show – one which has never been done in the history of the Grand Ole Opry,” enthused The Sisterhood’s Ruby Stewart. “To share the bill with some of our biggest inspirations in country music was surreal for us.”

Duo member Alyssa Bonagura responded, “There’s nothing more magical than being at the Opry, but to play on the eve of the new moon solar eclipse added an unforgettable energy.” She added, “To be introduced by country radio legend Bill Cody who has always supported our music, and to have our Sony Nashville team and families side stage made the evening so special for us.”

Collectively, Ruby and Alyssa gave the Grand Ole Opry a shout-out: “Thank you for giving us a once in a lifetime experience to make our debut on such a majestic evening!”

On Monday, August 21st, The Sisterhood participated in a solar eclipse viewing event on the Amenity Deck on the rooftop of the 1201 Demonbreun building in the Gulch area of downtown Nashville. The duo did a set prior to the celestial moment, followed by an eclipse encore performance of the Bonagura/Stewart co-penned song, “Tethered.” The theme-appropriate lyrics include the line: I wrote letters to the moon…drank in the stars…it was gone too soon.” The 1201 Demonbreun event attendees were the building’s occupants, including Sony Music Nashville and WME who sponsored The Sisterhood performance.

The Sisterhood summed it up best, “Playing on the rooftop of the Sony/WME building with the Nashville skyline as our backdrop was the perfect setting to welcome the new moon solar eclipse. It marked new beginnings and a full circle moment for us!”

Alyssa Bonagura and Ruby Stewart make up The Sisterhood, and both have a compelling musical heritage. Alyssa is daughter of Kathie Baillie and Michael Bonagura, the core of the country band Baillie & The Boys, and Ruby’s father is rock icon Rod Stewart.

The Sisterhood recently signed their long-term recording contract with Sony Music Nashville at a performance at Nashville’s 3rd & Lindsley.  The duo had just returned the day before from opening Rod Stewart’s 10-city stadium tour in the U.K. on which they performed an hour-long set featuring their country rock melodies and soaring rich harmonies.
