Singer-Songwriter Aliyah Good Unveils New Music Video for Her First Self-Written Single “Ending of a First Love”

Premiering Today, February 3 on CMT.com

Nashville, TN – Singer-songwriter Aliyah Good is pleased to announce the release of her debut music video for her first solo-penned song, “Ending of a First Love.” The single was released in October of 2022 and is available for download across all streaming platforms here. The video is premiering on CMT.com here.

“Ending of a First Love” tells the story of someone who falls hard in love for the first time, taking their lover “to your favorite cafe, you show them your hiding place, and then they hurt you in the worst way.” The song takes the listener through the feelings and pains of enduring an incredible loss of a breakup despite trusting the other deeply and never believing they would leave in the end.

Good spoke on why she wrote the song, saying, “This song will resonate with anyone going through a big heartbreak for the first time. We all have been there. Writing this song was cathartic for me to get through it.”

The music video was shot in East Nashville and features one of Good’s old preschool buddies and fellow artist, Timothy Wayne, whose uncle happens to be multi-Grammy award winner Tim McGraw. When talking about working with Wayne, Good says, “It was so hard yelling at Timothy in the fight scene because he’s such a sweetheart. There was a lot of laughing through it all.”

Good describes her sound as a mix between pop country and indie, and her songwriting is largely introspective and personal. “I’ve always written what I’ve known. Most of the time my songs are a snapshot into whatever or whoever is bothering me.” She is planning to release a seven-song EP on May 5, 2023.

Good grew up performing on stages across the country from the age of three with her parents – Grammy-nominated country artist Jamie O’Neal and veteran studio engineer Rodney Good. While she loved the spotlight and stage, everything rose to a new level for Good when she wrote her first song at 13 years old and started opening shows on tour, singing and playing her own music. Now, at 19, she regularly performs live at Ole Red in the Lookout and The Listening Room with Song Suffragettes, both in Nashville. On top of her projects and performances, she also manages to juggle college as she attends the Frost School of Music at the University of Miami.
