With 24 albums between them, critically acclaimed artists and sisters Shelby Lynne and Allison Moorer came together to release their first collaboration titled Not Dark Yet last August. An eclectic collection of covers that span genres and generations, songs on the album range from Bob Dylan’s “Not Dark Yet” to Kurt Cobain’s “Lithium” to Merle Haggards’ “Silver Wings” and “The Color of a Cloudy Day” by Jason Isbell and Amanda Shires. Lynne and Moorer’s bond not only as sisters, but as musicians comes across vocally as well as lyrically as the sisters co-wrote the final track “Is It Too Much.”

That bond will be showcased tonight in New York City when the sisters perform as part of Lincoln Center’s American Songbook series. Joined on stage by Joe McMahan (Guitar), Jason Weinheimer (Bass) and Rick Reid (Drums), Lynne and Moorer will present songs from their incredible individual catalogues as well as Not Dark Yet.

Celebrating its 19th year, American Songbook honors the history of the American songwriter and the various styles formed from the late 1800s through to today’s current trends with intimate concerts in three of Lincoln Center’s cherished venues at Jazz: The Appel Room, which features floor-to-ceiling windows with breathtaking views of Columbus Circle for cabaret-style performances, The Rose Theatre with its intimate atmosphere despite being the largest performance space at Jazz at Lincoln Center and the David Rubenstein Atrium, featuring an indoor public commons with hundreds of free programs offered throughout the year.
