Sam Hunt Lands Seventh No. 1 Single at Country Radio With “Hard To Forget”

SOUTHSIDE Only Platinum-Certified Country Album in RIAA’s 2020 Mid-Year Best

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Multi-Platinum-selling country star Sam Hunt claims his seventh career No. 1 with “Hard To Forget” topping both the Billboard and MediaBase country airplay charts this week. According to Slate, “Hard To Forget,” written by Sam Hunt, Luke Laird, Shane McAnally, Josh Osborne, Ashley Gorley, Audrey Grisham, Russ Hull, and Mary Jean Shurtz, “is in the running for one of the best songs of 2020, country or otherwise.”

“Hard To Forget” is featured on Hunt’s Platinum-selling No. 1 album SOUTHSIDE. Platinum-certified within days of its April 3 release, SOUTHSIDE was recently celebrated by the RIAA as one of only four albums, and the only country project, to reach Platinum status in the first half of 2020. Additionally, SOUTHSIDE has earned widespread critical acclaim including being named one of the Best Albums of 2020 So Far by NPR, Rolling Stone, US Weekly, and more. Pitchfork praises SOUTHSIDE as “a marker of what modern commercial country can do at its heights” while The New York Times says the album is “unflashily impressive, containing some of his riskiest work and also some of his most traditional. It is, depending on your angle, a reminder that Hunt is a Nashville provocateur, or that Hunt is a Nashville provocateur who can write better songs than almost everyone he’s trying to provoke.” Listen to SOUTHSIDE HERE.
