Album Set for Summer 2018 Release
Nashville, TN – Rounder Records is pleased to announce the signing of Ruston Kelly to the label. Kelly, a renowned singer and songwriter whose compositions have been recorded by artists including Tim McGraw and the Josh Abbott Band, plans to release his Rounder debut this summer.
Rounder Records President John Strohm said, “I have followed Kelly’s career for years and I believe he is the best rising singer-songwriter in Nashville.” He continues, “We at Rounder are incredibly excited to have the opportunity to work with him.”
Bruce Kalmick at Triple 8 Management has signed Kelly for representation. Kelly joins a diverse roster that includes Kaleo, ALT electronic duo MISSIO, Judah and the Lion, Chase Rice, Scotty McCreery, Eli Young Band and more. “I’ve been a fan of Kelly’s songwriting for years, and after listening to the forthcoming album; I knew I wouldn’t sleep well if I couldn’t dive in and help get this art to the world,” said Kalmick. “Kelly is the next generation of storytelling folk rock. It’s only a matter of time before he’s uttered in the same conversation as Ryan Adams and Jason Isbell. Everyone should pay attention.”
Kelly’s 2017 EP Halloween earned accolades from critics like Rolling Stone Country’s Marissa Moss, who praised his, “powerful grasp on storytelling gleaned from his love of the Carter Family and Townes Van Zandt,” and observed that Kelly is, “a scruffier-voiced Ryan Adams obsessed with both Merle and the Misfits.”
Kelly will be on tour with Brian Fallon & The Howling Weather in March and April.
