The 2020 ACM Nominee’s Storyline-Focused New Music Video Is Out Now
LOS ANGELES — Today, Triple Tigers’ multi-platinum recording artist, Russell Dickerson, released the music video (LINKED) for his recent single, “Love You Like I Used To,” off his upcoming sophomore album due out later this year. The new smash single, being referred to by fans and media as “Yours 2.0”, has already amassed over 8 million Spotify streams to date, while steadily climbing the Country Music charts since its release.
In the video out today, Dickerson takes a creative storytelling approach, as the opening scene alludes to a relationship in turmoil with a husband seemingly leaving wife and family. The lyrics suggest the same trajectory— that of an age-old breakup song (“Girl I’ve always loved you/ Oh but something’s changed…”). Viewers then journey with the imagery and lyrics as they take an affecting turn, the single then clearly distinguishing itself as the ultimate love song— a song about the positive growth over time in relationships.

Directed by his wife, Kailey Dickerson, alongside directing partner and brother, Toben Seymour, the video continues along the theme of the beauty in the evolution in a relationship, an ideal that may feel archaic to the modern dater with endless options at their fingertips. Shot in Palm Springs, CA and Nashville, TN, Dickerson cast actors for the first time in his video history to carry out the story that culminates with a climactic homecoming reinforcing the rewards of commitment and faithfulness.
