Vince Gill, Ashley Monroe, Emmylou Harris and more enthrall guests as over $50,000 is raised
during one-of-a-kind event held at The Jaeckle Centre
Nashville, TN — Life and art collided over the weekend at the 3rd Annual Celebrity Barn Dance in Thompson’s Station, Tennessee. Grammy winning artist Rodney Crowell had just wrapped sound check and was preparing to host hundreds of guests at The Jaeckle Centre when cardiac symptoms forced him to leave for the emergency room. While doctors were able to stabilize and discharge him later that night, his health crisis shone a spotlight on the very cause he was there to support – Music Health Alliance.
Twenty-time Grammy winner Vince Gill – along with an all-star band including Colin Linden and Paul Franklin– was joined by friends and fellow musical superstars Ashley Monroe, Emmylou Harris and Wendy Moten, entertaining the crowd with more than 2.5 hours of music and dancing late into the night. As the night was drawing to a close, Crowell surprised the audience, taking the stage for the final two songs following his release from the hospital.
The event held Saturday, October 29 in Thompson’s Station, Tennessee at The Jaeckle Centre, the South’s Premiere Equine Facility and the largest barn in the South, raised more than $50,000 to benefit Music Health Alliance. The Nashville based non-profit, which provides compassionate and patient-driven healthcare advocacy and support, has secured over $12 million dollars in life-changing healthcare resources in just three years and enabled access to doctors, medicine, health insurance and financial assistance for 4,600 music industry entrepreneurs and professionals.
“Tonight was so poignant and represents exactly what Music Health Alliance is all about,” said Music Health Alliance Founder & Executive Director, Tatum Hauck Allsep. “When one of our own falls we are there to help them get back up again. This is exactly what the legendary artists, musicians, volunteers and The Jaeckle Centre family did in honor of Rodney tonight while carrying on the mission of Music Health Alliance to Heal The Music.”
The only event of its kind in the U.S., guests were invited to leave their heels at home and slip on their dancing shoes while world class artists Crowell, Gill, Monroe and Harris along with Linden and Moten, brought to life a truly authentic barn dance experience as they and their All-Star band performed fan favorites and requests from the dance floor.
