Nashville, Tenn.,— They say imitation is the best form of flattery, and that saying rings true for for pop superstar Rob Thomas after Stoney Creek Records’ Jimmie Allen recently tweeted a video of him covering Thomas’s 2005 hit, “Ever the Same.”
A simple tweet by Allen sparked a retweet by Thomas and received over 800 likes (and growing) and comments from both artist’s fanbases. In response Thomas tweeted, “Hate it when someone does my song better than me,” to his legion of 455.2k fans.
Allen replied to the retweet humbly stating, “No way dude. You’re the master, I’m learning from you.”
It is safe to say Allen received a few extra fans thanks to Thomas.
