Keith Urban Surprise Leads September 16 Broadcast on CBS

NASHVILLE, TN – Chart-topping singer/songwriter RILEY GREEN celebrates exciting news this morning after being named the Academy of Country Music Awards New Male Artist of the Year. Host and reigning ACM Entertainer of the Year Keith Urban surprised him with the coveted title ahead of the ACM Awards, airing live September 16 on CBS at 8/7c.

Shocked with the big news, Green shared, “My love for country music started with my granddaddy Buford playin’ me some old Merle Haggard songs when I was a kid. I have always appreciated the way a song can tell a story. That’s what motivated me early on to write songs of my own. I wanted to tell my story. The story of my hometown, my home state, and my friends and family who helped make me who I am today. It’s an incredible feeling to have fans relate to that story and sing it back to me at shows all over the country. I owe it all to my fans, my team, all of the believers at Country Radio, and everyone who ever played a song of mine or bought a ticket to a show. To win an award like this is such an honor and I can’t wait to celebrate with every one of you just as soon as we are able to get back out on the road.”

This latest accolade follows a nod from iHeartRadio Music Awards for Best New Country Artist, receiving MusicRow’s Breakout Artist of the Year and being selected for the prestigious CRS 2020 New Faces Class. Additionally, Green’s most recent hit “I Wish Grandpas Never Died” was RIAA Certified Gold to add to his debut GOLD-certified No. 1 “There Was This Girl.”

After spending 2019 on the road with Brad Paisley and Jon Pardi while also headlining his own GET THAT MAN A BEER TOUR, Riley kicked off 2020 on Jason Aldean’s WE BACK TOUR. While live shows have now been suspended, Green has found inspiration being off the road. The influence of his hometown of Jacksonville, AL and time to soak it all in sparked his recent reflective VALLEY ROAD EP via BMLG Records. Listen Here: http://rileygreen.lnk.to/valleyroadprVisit RileyGreenMusic.com for more updates.
