Visit Sparks Hundreds of Listener Calls

NASHVILLE, TN — The current Academy of Western Artists Male Vocalist of the Year, Rex Allen Jr. will be live on the Oasis Radio Network, Tuesday evening, April 11, 2017, at 7pm central time.  Fans in 34 countries can tune in to the Ron Tyler and Friends show to enjoy Allen’s new music from Garage Songs X: This Is The Last Cowboy Song and past hits with the stories behind a lifetime of performing.

To announce Allen’s visit, show host Ron Tyler played new and old songs from Rex Allen Jr. Thursday evening, which set off the phones.  As Tyler says, “I couldn’t get to all of the calls coming in.  It was crazy.  Folks called from all over, even Liverpool and Wales.  They love him.”  Tyler says, total, there were about 751 phone calls from Rex Allen Jr. fans during the four hour program.

In the meantime, his popularity and music continue to reach new audiences.  Allen’s latest album  is an all western recording, titled  “Garage Songs X:  This Is The Last Cowboy Song.”  The first single, “Call of the Canyon” is currently played on radio stations across the U.S., UK, Australia, Europe, the Netherlands and New Zealand.  The recording also captures three generations of the Allen family singing in harmony.

Rex Allen Jr. is on his farewell Sunrise To Sunset Tour, scheduled to wrap up in October at Rex Allen Days in Wilcox, Arizona.  In the meantime, the singer/songwriter is set to appear on Ray Stevens’ Caba Ray television show, Red Steagall’s Somewhere West of Wall Street television show and Cowboy Corner radio show, as well as  the world famous Ernest Tubb Midnite Jamboree in 2017.
