Icon Shares Experiences + Advice During Q&A at The Bluebird Café
NASHVILLE, TN — Multi-media entertainer and entrepreneur Reba McEntire joined Change the Conversation to share her career experiences and advise during last night’s (3/29) inaugural Rising Young Artists Mentoring Session, hosted by Taylor Guitars, at The Bluebird Cafe. Change the Conversation co-founder Beverly Keel spoke with the Grammy-Award winning icon about her illustrious forty-year career that has garnered 35 #1 singles, 56 million albums sold worldwide and prestigious industry honors. Her latest offering, the chart-topping LOVE SOMEBODY (Nash Icon Records), solidified Reba with the most #1 Billboard Top Country Albums among women and scored the biggest single sales debut of her career with the lead single “Going Out Like That.” The Country Music Hall of Fame and Grand Ole Opry member will return to The Colosseum at Caesars Palace in May for REBA, BROOKS & DUNN: Together in Vegas, already selling out 18 consecutive for over 75,000 fans. Reba has become a household name across music, television, film, theater and retail.
The sold-out evening also featured performances from aspiring female singer-songwriters Savannah Keyes, Lexi Mackenzie, Kalie Shorr, Alana Springsteen and Allison Veltz.
Change the Conversation is a coalition designed to tackle country music’s gender issues that was formed by Tracy Gershon, Keel and Leslie Fram in 2014. The group’s goal is to increase the number of women played on Country radio and signed to label and publishing deals. The organization funds research and hosts industry experts to speak to the group.
