An ode to love that has been lost, the song’s heartbreakingly honest lyrics read:

“‘Livin’ This Way’ is based on a classic country music theme – pain,” said Scott. “In keeping with my habit of honesty in songwriting, I thought it was a good way to introduce this new project.”
