ANTICIPATED EP, BAYTOWN, OUT AUGUST 14 ON ROUND HERE RECORDS
NASHVILLE, TENN. – PLATINUM Country star RAELYNN tells a truthful goodbye with her brand-new song “Me About Me,” available now at all streaming platforms and digital retailers. The track is the latest look at her forthcoming EP, BAYTOWN, out August 14 on Round Here Records.
With its tender guitar work and heavy-hearted vocals, “Me About Me” speaks to the pain of dealing with an unbalanced relationship. Penned by RaeLynn alongside Bob DiPiero (BMI Icon and Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame member) and Jeff Garrison (rising songwriter signed to DiPiero’s publishing company), the song was sparked from a heart-to-heart conversation with a close friend.
“We were talking about past relationships, and I told her about a situation with an ex where I knew everything about him, but he never asked me about me,” says RaeLynn. “It made me realize that I wasn’t alone, a lot of people have probably had the experience of a relationship being one-sided like that.”
“Me About Me” showcases RaeLynn’s supreme gift for crafting lyrics both highly specific and incredibly resonant – “Your first ride was a 1990 Wrangler/Your first kiss was a game of spin-the-bottle/When it comes to you I can answer any question/That’s what happens when you just sit back and listen.”
In a brilliant twist to the track’s melancholy mood, RaeLynn devotes the chorus to sharing all the details her ex missed out on – like her faith, music, childhood experiences, and all the things that made her who she is now.
“Me About Me” follows fiery recent release “Keep Up” and free-spirited “Bra Off”, all of which are featured on BAYTOWN. Taking its title from her Texas hometown, the EP channels RaeLynn’s force-of-nature energy into six songs that perfectly capture her one-of-a-kind spirit, gutsy confidence and unbridled joy. With her adept songwriting woven through the Corey Crowder-produced project, RaeLynn co-penned every song.
