Nashville, Tenn. – The wait is over, as Pinecastle Records’ American themed project United We Stand is officially available now. The star-studded album features music from top Bluegrass artists like Lorraine Jordan & Carolina Road, Dale Ann Bradley, Billy Droze, Williamson Branch, Roe Family Singers, Clay Hess, Nightflyer, Family Sowell, Daughters of Bluegrass, Brad Hudson, VW Boys, Johnny and Jeanette Williamson, Nightflyer, The Garrett Newton Band and Ben Greene. Proceeds from United We Stand will benefit Guitars For Vets. Founded in 2007 by guitar instructor Patrick Nettesheim and his student Dan Van Buskirk, the organization offers an array of different instruments and services to veterans, including new and used guitars, along with lessons to teach these heroes the art of playing guitar. To celebrate the initial release, Pinecastle has donated five Recording King guitars to G4V. Recording King offers some of the best instruments in the business, serving as sponsors for label artists like Dale Ann Bradley and Phil Leadbetter. In addition to Pinecastle’s contributions, songwriters Paula Breedlove and Mark Brinkman have also pledged to donate their royalties from the album to G4V.
In total, United We Stand has 18 total tracks, all capturing the true American spirit. The lead singles were released prior to July 4th in the form of “Sergeant Bum” by Clay Hess and “Will You Fold My Flag” by Flashback. Hess’ song showcases a softer side of the album, telling a story about a homeless veteran given the nickname Sergeant Bum. The powerful anthem was penned by Mike Evans and Mark Brinkman. The upbeat Flashback cut featured was written by Don Rigsby and is also included on their latest record Blues Around My Cabin, serving as the second official single from the collection.
United We Stand was organized and put together by “Female Vocalist of the Year” winner Lorraine Jordan, who heads the award-winning band Carolina Road. Throughout the selection process, Jordan aimed to capture the true red, white and blue essence with each artist selected, and every patriotic Bluegrass song. In addition to a track on the record from Carolina Road, the band’s critically-acclaimed “Banjo Player of the Year” winner Ben Greene also showcases his world-class musicianship, performing three different must-hear instrumentals throughout United We Stand.
