NASHVILLE, Tenn.—It’s almost Valentine’s Day and country superstar Miranda Lambert has lots of love to share with shelters on behalf of her pet-loving fans who volunteered, fostered or adopted shelter pets. Because 2020 posed unique challenges for volunteering, MuttNation’s “Share The Love” program expanded its parameters to include people who had adopted or fostered – as well as those who volunteered at their local rescue. By participating, the shelter they helped was automatically registered to be in the running to receive one of 15 MuttNation Foundation $1000 grants.

Lambert, who began volunteering at rescue shelters as a teenager and who has nine shelter dogs, several cats, rabbits and horses said, “Shelter pets and the people who care for them have the biggest hearts and sharing the love for Valentine’s Day feels so right.” MuttNation started this program three years ago with nearly 500 registrants. The second year grew to more than 2,000. This past year, the number of participants swelled to over 14,000. “It’s  amazing to have such an overwhelming response to our program. The number of people who participated demonstrates the commitment and value that community members provide to their local shelters. And, especially given how difficult this year’s been – it just means so much,” Miranda added.

MuttNation congratulates the 15 grant recipient shelters and all of the dedicated people who volunteered, fostered and adopted shelter pets – who made it happen.
