Matt Rogers Drives It Home with “Thunderbird”

NASHVILLE – Matt Rogers wraps his authentic as vinyl vocals around themes at the heart of a father/son relationship in his latest single. While tapping a contemporary beat on the steering wheel, Rogers reminisces about hard-won wisdom wrenched into place under the hood of a classic car. He drives it home with “Thunderbird.” Listen HERE.

“Family relationships shape your entire world,” said Rogers. “We live out the lessons we learned as a child and pass them on. Family is the link to our past and a bridge to our future.”

The Georgia-bred singer/songwriter is at his best when exploring relationships and the deep, emotional tank that fuels them. “Thunderbird” follows the release of “Fallout,” which looks at the painful aftermath of heartbreak, and “Be Like Him,” which takes an honest look at building trust where there is painful rubble from a previous relationship. The song was heralded as “brutally relatable” by American Songwriter.

Produced by Colt Capperrune, Rogers co-wrote “Thunderbird” with Heath Deloach.

Rogers sings with raw candor about the things you learn when you least expect it. In “Thunderbird,” He draws life lessons from the common place where advice becomes wisdom: “If you ain’t got time to do it right/ You sure ain’t got time to do it twice.”

The Durango Boot ambassador has reached a growing, global audience with his genuine, country-at-heart/blues-in-his-soul style thanks performing weekly since 2018 at Ole Red in Nashville and an extensive tour schedule across the U.S.

On stage, Rogers has created a meaningful bond with his listeners through his emotionally gripping lyrics and unmistakable melodies, but he is equally at home in the writers’ room penning songs with some of the best tunesmiths in Music City and winning numerous awards. And now, Rogers’ self-penned new music is poised to reach an even bigger audience through his partnership with Nashville-based Vere Music, with national distribution partner ADA.

Rogers has been releasing music since moving to Nashville in 2017 including his critically acclaimed sophomore EP, Richest Place On Earth. His single “Peaches and Pecans” from the project pays homage to the Peach State and was a popular anthem at University of Georgia home games at Stanford Stadium during their 2018 standout football season. In 2019, Rogers’ buzz-worthy single “Burn The Boat” made waves when it landed on Buzzfeed’s “Top 10 Hottest Country Summer Jams” alongside songs by Luke Combs and Carrie Underwood.
