Lukas Nelson Covers Neil Young at Grand Ole Opry Debut, Joined By Margo Price

Following a Colbert performance and the release of a “soulful, striking” (AP) new album that debuted at #2 on Billboard’s Heatseekers chart, Lukas Nelson made his Grand Ole Opry debut last night – another step in a big year for the young songwriter / guitarist.

Nelson made an extraordinary first impression, sharing the stage with Margo Price for a cover of “Human Highway” (a song fairly familiar to the Neil Young bandmate), before delivering some intimately stirring renditions of tracks from his brand new album, ‘Lukas Nelson & Promise of the Real.’

Nelson continues a restless run at AmericanaFest tonight, presenting Album of the Year alongside Elizabeth Cook at the festival’s Awards & Honors Show. He and Promise of the Real resume an international tour later this week, stopping at Farm Aid, Austin City Limits, and multiple Outlaw Music Fests before heading to Europe next month.

Featuring collaborations with Lady Gaga, Lucius, Willie Nelson, and producer John Alagia (Dave Matthews, John Mayer), ‘Lukas Nelson & Promise of the Real’ has earned raves from Rolling Stone, AP, People, EW, UNCUT, American Songwriter, and many more.
