Kory Caudill Premiere on The Boot, Trending on CMT

Nominated in Three GRAMMY Categories

Nashville, Tennessee – Kory Caudill has had many “firsts” since his debut album, Tree of Life, was released one year ago, and three of them occurred within the last few weeks. His first video, “Kentucky Creekwater,” premiered on TheBoot.com, and was trending at #1 on CMT.com within a couple of days. And the thrill of his life happened when his music landed in three categories of the first round of GRAMMY balloting.

tree-of-life“I had some pretty crazy goals in mind when I moved to Nashville and set out to tackle the music business – especially since I wanted to tackle them mostly as a piano player,” said an elated Eastern Kentucky native. “To have my video premiere on The Boot and then start trending on CMT and then to have not one but three GRAMMY nominations is plum wild!”

His GRAMMY nominations include:
“Best Contemporary Instrumental Album” (029) for Tree of Life
“Instrumental Composition” (376) for “Waltz of Life”
“Best Engineered Album” (531) for Tree of Life

The “Kentucky Creekwater” music video follows Kory, his guitar player Roger Coleman and bassist Dave Dubas as they (justifiably) get fired from their jobs. They hook up with other ragtag friends at the golf course, which of course leads to drinking…and fishing. Check out the clip here at The Boot and here at CMT.

A classically trained pianist, Kory signed as the flagship artist to Naxos USA’s Suite 28 Records label last year. His influences range widely from Frederic Chopin to Ricky Skaggs and from Bruce Hornsby to Yanni. He began playing melodies on the piano when he was only a toddler, and now he is one of the most sought after keyboardists in the country.

As with many artists who compose the music they perform, Caudill often looks to the things around him for inspiration. The title track of Tree of Life was inspired by a quilt that was made by his grandmother. “Kentucky Creekwater” is a rousing piece that tips a hat to moonshiners who still make a living making hooch near his home town of Prestonsburg, KY.

Kory will kick off his Home for Christmas Tour November 25 at the First Christian Church in Elizabethtown and November 26 at the Mountain Arts Center in Phrestonsburg, Kentucky. Tickets can be purchased at www.fccetown.com and www.macarts.com.
