Justin Fabus knows that after every storm, there is an aftermath. Coming on the heels of his acclaimed Shelter from the Storm (#25, iTunes Country Album Chart), the singer-songwriter now offers the powerful sequel, The Aftermath.” Available August 19, the EP delivers five poignant and dynamic songs. The first single “Run,” is now available for download.
“The Aftermath is a reflection of where we are now,” Justin says. “The songs may tackle difficult themes, but there’s a positivity that shines at the end of each track.”
The project marks the first time Justin wrote all the songs on his own. Not surprisingly, the music hits close to home.
The first single “Run” is inspired by Reyna, the paralyzed French Bulldog Justin rescued during the pandemic. While Justin was told she’d never walk, he always believed she would. He turned his faith into song. The anthem’s powerful message was elevated with vocals from the trailblazing trio Chapel Hart. Today, Reyna not only walks – she runs!
Perfect for these hot summer days, the collection also includes the thrilling, rock-influenced “Young, Wild & Free.” Taking a dramatic turn, the introspective “Reflections” makes listeners think of their own life stories and the roads they have traveled.
Always wanting to honor traditional country roots, Justin, a member of the Country Music Association (CMA), wrote “After You” and “Kept Being You, Quit Being Me.”
As you hear Justin’s songs, you hear his heart. The stories on The Aftermath are his gift to listeners as we all re-emerge into the light.
