Julia Larkin released her newest single “Same Old” on July 7th, 2023 which is available on all streaming platforms. It has already been added to one of Spotify’s editorial playlists on New Music Friday Country! She also released her debut single “Toy” earlier this year which has amassed over 168,000 streams and continues to climb.
Co-written with Tarrah Walston and Hayley Payne, the song was produced by Jason Bobo. In an upbeat performance, the song pokes fun at a person you’ve dated, who just never seems to change. They can switch up their hair, their clothes, and where they live. They can even get a year older, but they still fall into their “same old” patterns.
Julia discusses her inspiration and hopes for the song – “I really wanted to make light of a situation and give it fun twist! It can be super frustrating when someone doesn’t change their ways, and this was my way of poking fun at that. I hope this is a song people find themselves blasting with the windows down or dancing to all summer long.”
Julia is looking forward to releasing more and more music, hoping to form real connections with her listeners. She’s still experimenting with her sound, so she’s excited to show how it develops.
