Jim Brown Falls For “Honky-Tonk Women” In His Latest Release

Seasoned business owner turned singer/songwriter Jim Brown premieres his latest single, “Honky-Tonk Women,” a coy look at a man wooed by the allure of a local waitress at his favorite watering hole. Jim penned the single with Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame member Jerry Chesnut (George Jones – “A Good Year for the Roses,” Johnny Cash – “Oney,” Elvis Presley – “T-R-O-U-B-L-E,” etc.).

“I’ve been a fan of country music all my life,” says Brown, “I’ve been fortunate to work alongside some really terrific singers like Darryl Worley, Collin Raye, and Bryan White; they’re great people and I love their style. But I’m also diggin’ some of the new stuff on the radio. It’s like I’ve said about another song from my new project, ‘Honky Tonk Train’ – I like where the train has been and I like where it’s going!”

Jim’s modern-day adaptation of traditional country is showcased on this boot-tapping single, a song perfect for line dancing country fans around the globe. It’s very clear why Jim and his co-writer Jerry Chesnut, who has hits recorded by George Jones, Elvis Presley, Dolly Parton, Johnny Cash and many others, make a perfect match: Jim channels George “The Possum” Jones with his hiccup-style bends and vocal delivery.
