Nashville, TN — Country Artist and Songwriter Jillian Cardarelli releases new single “Country Side” available now on all streaming platforms. The single premiered on Taste of Country yesterday with the music video available on CMT.com starting March 3rd.
The song, written by Cardarelli and hitmakers Tina Parol and Simon Dumas (King Calaway), expresses a love of country music as a genre and that, no matter where you’re from, everybody has a country side. In addition, the lyrics are uniquely intertwined to pay homage to the genre with a mention of 15 different country hits through the years.
“I grew up listening to country and I’d often get the same question…’You’re from New England and you sing country music?’ It never occurred to me that there could be a misconception about a genre as it relates to geography,” said Jillian Cardarelli. “Country music, and its storylines, are so universal no matter where you’re from. That’s why I love it. I wrote this song with Tina Parol, originally from Buffalo, NY and Simon Dumas who is from the British Territory of Gibraltar. We all agree that you don’t have to be from the South to love country music. Every summer growing up in Massachusetts, my birthday present would be going to Kenny Chesney’s concert at Gillette Stadium, the birthplace of No Shoes Nation. This song is for all country music lovers, no matter where they live on the map.”
This is Cardarelli’s first single release of 2023 as big things are on the horizon for this talented young lady. Her previous singles “What’s It Gonna Take,” “Dropped” and “If You Had a Heart” from her 2021 EP – all garnered support from Apple Music, Spotify and Pandora. Her inspirational single “STRONG” featuring Charles Esten was named one of 2020’s Most Powerful Songs by American Songwriter. “I Never Do This,” was named Best New Country Song by Rolling Stone in October 2019.
