IBMA To Delay Opening of Ticket Sales, Hotel Reservations for IBMA World of Bluegrass Until Early Summer

ANNUAL EVENT STILL SCHEDULED FOR
SEPTEMBER 29-OCTOBER 3

Nashville, TN — The International Bluegrass Music Association (IBMA), organizers of this year’s IBMA World of Bluegrass event, scheduled for September 29-October 3 in Raleigh, North Carolina, announced that opening day sales for the IBMA Business Conference, IBMA Bluegrass Ramble, IBMA Bluegrass Music Awards and the limited reserved seating available for Red Hat Amphitheater performances during IBMA Bluegrass Live! powered by PNC will be postponed from April 7 for IBMA & PineCone members, and April 21 for the general public, to a yet-to-be determined date in early summer. Access to the IBMA’s discounted hotel blocks will be postponed as well to the new on-sale date.

At this time, no additional changes have been made to IBMA World of Bluegrass events, and the week remains on schedule for September 29-October 3.

“While so many of us eagerly look forward to sitting at our computers in early April to register and buy tickets for IBMA World of Bluegrass, it is prudent to hit the pause button given the conditions we presently face,” said Paul Schiminger, Executive Director of IBMA. “We are fortunate to have several months until we see everyone in Raleigh, so we are currently anticipating an on-sale date in early-to-mid-June. We know our bluegrass music community needs our important annual gathering more than ever, so we are working hard to make that happen!”

Additional updates and information about IBMA World of Bluegrass will be shared across the organization’s social media platforms, through email notification, and on worldofbluegrass.org and ibma.org. Updates will also be available via our Raleigh partners’ social media platforms and email newsletters, including PineCone, the Raleigh Convention Center, and the Greater Raleigh Convention and Visitors Bureau (visitRaleigh).

IBMA continues to offer a Community Resources page at their official website – ibma.org – that offers updated information about COVID-19 that is relevant to the bluegrass community.
