Hope Nation Radio Goes Gold for Childhood Cancer Awareness Month

Friday (9/1) marked Childhood Cancer Awareness Day in the state of Tennessee and the beginning of National Childhood Cancer Awareness month. Charitable internet radio station Hope Nation Radio is gearing up for their busy month with a few activities that the whole family can enjoy.

Hope Nation Radio kicked off their annual 30 Days of Hope campaign with the help from the Bridgestone Arena and the world famous Wildhorse Saloon as they lit up gold for the day. The Wildhorse Saloon lit up gold around 4PM and the employees also showed their support wearing gold all day. Around 6:30PM, The Bridgestone Arena plaza turned gold in honor of those survivors, fighters, and angels of childhood cancer.

In anticipation of the kickoff gathering at the Wildhorse Saloon and Bridgestone Arena, Hope Nation Radio’s host and founder, Nile Peaytt co-hosted “Nashville Today” with Devon O’Day on WSM-AM earlier in the day from 4-6pm. Nile discussed Hope Nation Radio’s plans for the rest of the month including their upcoming concert to benefit families of children with cancer.

Their 8th Annual 30 Days of Hope Benefit Concert will be held Wednesday, September 6th at 7pm at 3rd & Lindsley. The night will host acoustic performances from some of Nashville’s finest singer/songwriters including Grammy-nominated Brady Seals (Little Texas), multi Grammy-Award winning songwriter Gordon Kennedy, John Berry, Keith Anderson, Sonny Lemaire (Exile), Buddy Jewell, and Paul Jefferson. Tickets are available at the door or online HERE.

As Hope Nation Radio wraps up the 30 Days of Hope campaign, Nashville is lighting up the Korean War Veterans Memorial Bridge gold on Saturday, September 30th in honor of childhood cancer. Last year, Mayor Megan Barry lit the bridge gold for the day and “Big Daddy” was recognized with a special commencement receiving the “Tennessee Ambassador of Goodwill,” signed by Governor Haslam.
