Grand Ole Opry Salute the Troops Show Honors United States Military and Disabled American Veterans on Tuesday Night’s Show with a Star-Studded Red Carpet Welcome

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The Grand Ole Opry saluted the U.S. Military with a return of the red carpet parade and special Salute the Troops Opry performance on Tuesday night’s show. Among the artists who performed were Cam, Opry members Dailey & Vincent, Riley Green, Jake Hoot, Riders In The Sky, Opry member Craig Morgan, a U.S. Army veteran, as well as The War And Treaty, the husband and wife duo of U.S. Army veteran Michael Trotter and Tanya Blount.

Opry announcer Kelly Sutton welcomes the night’s two Opry guest announcers (l to r) Retired Army Lt. Gen. Keith Huber, a senior advisor for the veterans and leadership initiatives at MTSU was a guest announcer representing The Daniels Center and Command Sergeant Major Andrew Lombardo. Sgt. The Opry and its presenting sponsor Humana, partnering with DAV invited men and women of the U.S. military and DAV members, as well as spouses, children, and parents of service members to walk the red carpet into the Opry House for the evening’s show, dedicated to saluting the troops and their families for their service to the nation. Many of the artists performing on the evening’s show greeted the honored guests at the end of the red carpet.

This year’s Opry Salute the Troops was filmed to air as a special Opry Live on Memorial Day weekend (Saturday, May 28) on the Opry’s television broadcast home, Circle Network, Circle All Access Facebook, Twitter and YouTube. The show will air live on WSM Radio and will also be heard on SiriusXM, Channel 59 Willie’s Roadhouse.

The Opry’s Salute the Troops celebration is presented by Humana and participating sponsors include MTSU’s The Charlie and Hazel Daniels Veterans and Military Family Center and Hiller’s Transitions to Trades program. Retired Army Lt. Gen. Keith Huber, a senior advisor for the veterans and leadership initiatives at MTSU was a guest announcer representing The Daniels Center.
