Taking a previously deep track and stripping the song down to its simplest form can add new layers of emotion, making the song even more raw and intimate. Sam Grow has done just that with a heavy acoustic performance video of his first single “History” premiering exclusively with The Country Note.
An already poignant song, “History” revolves around the story of a couple who are no longer together but still can’t close that chapter of their lives. In the video, the intensity of Grow’s voice supported simply with guitars allows the solemnness of the lyrics to stand out even more, while the aesthetic decision to shoot in black and white also adds a melancholy feeling to the viewing experience.
