Paducah, Kentucky native Jonathan Len has always loved music. Growing up on ’50s R&B and classic country music, Len loved to sing in the privacy of his home, but it wasn’t until college that he took voice lessons. Those lessons allowed his confidence to grow, giving him the strength to perform publicly, first as a member of a quartet and then as a solo artist. That confidence kicked in during a fortuitous moment that happened in 2013 while attending a Ohio Fair Managers’ Association Convention in Ohio with his quartet Blend. Len introduced himself to none other than Ronnie McDowell and when they later ran into McDowell quietly singing “Only You” to himself, the four Doo-wop loving vocalists jumped in and joined him on harmony. A few months later they were on stage with McDowell, signed on as his backup singers for his tour as well as an upcoming recording session in Music City.
When the days of Blend ended, Len was able to concentrate on his own musical path, releasing several singles including “You Will Never Leave My Mind.” During the year that was 2020, Len turned to Facebook Live and solo front porch shows to keep the music flowing. But with a new year comes new music, and today Len is exclusively premiering his music video for his latest single “A Woman Like That” with The Country Note.
Released just in time for summer, the video is set on a beach as Len gazes upon a beautiful woman who is happy with her other half, making him wish he had a woman like that.
“The idea for this video came back in April of 2020,” says Len. “I had linked up with Brett Ray from Titan Entertainment during that time. As soon as I had told him about the song, his mind started working with ideas. I instantly thought, this will be perfect. Brett’s creativity will bring my vision to life for this music video. The problem we were having was finding the venue. After several venues in other states didn’t work out, I stumbled upon Fajitaville, a beach side bar and restaurant, in Corpus Christi, Texas (North Beach) after visiting the area for some shows in late 2020. Fajitaville was perfect! I met with the management team and was given the green light! Filming was set and took place on January 16, 2021. All of the extras fell into place after putting a post out on Facebook and getting the local paper, Corpus Christi Caller Times, to do a story on the upcoming video shoot. The people were very down to earth and wanted to be a part of it just so they could say they were in a music video! One thing is for sure, they left having the opening lyric of the song stuck in their heads and a memory that will last forever.”
